It isn’t just a business for us, as we like to deliver a personal experience for each customer. Hair loss or alternative hair for fashion are both such personal journeys. We have walked these paths. Our aim is not to become the biggest business we can but to deliver the best service we can and positively impact as many people’s journeys as we can.

Our deeply personal mission to provide the best service stems from lived experience of Alopecia Totalis since childhood. Over the past 40 years, we’ve worn wigs of various constructions and styles. We’ve walked in our customers’ shoes—shopping both online and in-person at boutiques—and that understanding drives us to deliver a supportive and empathetic service at every step.

Often when we see customers for the first time virtually or in person and they tell us what style they like, we can instantly shortlist pieces for them—thanks to our deep knowledge of colours and styles across a wide range of collections. This is why our website isn’t set up like a traditional online store with every possible wig and colour combination.

Hours of Business
Please find below our opening hours. An appointment is required to visit us as we operate both virtual and in person consultations as well as home visits. In person and virtual appointments are complimentary. There is a fee for home visits.

- Wednesdays – 9am – 7pm
- Thursdays – 9am – 3pm
- Fridays – 9am – 6pm
- Saturdays – 10am – 4pm
- Sunday – 11am – 3pm
Located within our working farm, all consultations are strictly by appointment and unfortunately this is without exception. If you bring a dog along, please ensure your dog remains with you at all times and must always be on a lead as there is livestock in the surrounding fields as well as farm machinery operating. Please only access the boutique and the carpark as the fields, surrounding land, farm roads and tracks again contain livestock or may have farm machinery operating.
Nearby
Some of our customers travel from quite a distance away and we are lucky to be so centrally located. There is a wonderful coffee shop and garden centre a few hundred metres from us called Woodlands. And if you would like to make a day of it, Beamish Museum is a few miles from us, a must see when visiting the North East. Durham City is also a 10 minute drive from us.

We understand the overwhelming choice and lack of tangible experience of products when browsing online wig sites. In contrast, at Beech Grove, we make the process easier and more personal for you. We know that shopping online for wigs and toppers can take hours of your life away. Often in the end, when the wig or hairpiece arrives, it looks different in real life. It might not suit you in the way it did the model in the photograph.
During your appointment, we will:

- Try different fibre types (synthetic, heat-friendly, human hair)
- Help you find your perfect colour match
- Try on different styles suited to your face shape and preferences
You’re welcome to bring a friend or family member to support you either virtually or in person. Many clients tell us their consultation felt like chatting with a friend—comfortable, unhurried, and empowering. We are able to see wig colours in both indoor and outdoor lighting due to our private location. This is important because synthetic fibres can reflect light differently outdoors. Thus, they can appear a slightly different colour. You also get to appreciate how our luxury human hair wigs pick up the light in a totally natural way. This is because it is bio hair.
Virtual Luxury Wig and Hairpiece Consultations
If you’re based outside County Durham or the North East or prefer to start from home, we also offer virtual consultations. You’ll receive the same care, guidance, and expert advice—just from the comfort of your home. We also can do home visits though there is a fee for these.
